My First Mission Team Meeting

Well there is a first time for everything. This blog post is the beginning of what I hope to be a public journal of my mission trip experience. Since I said yes to the tug on my heart to be a part of this mission trip to India I have been personally challenged and stretched into non-comfort zone areas. I had my first meeting with the mission team last Tuesday. 10 Ladies and 3 guys. That in itself is a stretch. We prayed, talked, watched a video and discussed some logistics regarding fund raising and the trip itself. The whole time I am wondering why there are several puppets laying on the coffee table. As it turns out we will be doing a puppet show for the orphanages in Pune, India. The story of Joseph, who was abandoned by his brothers, but not forgotten by the Lord. So, next thing I know I am receiving lessons on the art of puppetry. Shortly after that I have my right arm stuffed in a puppet's back and am lip syncing the puppet to some music. In order to not lose all of my testosterone for the evening the other guy and I started making our puppets fight. Which in turn earned us several paparazzi type photos from the mission leader. All in all it was a great time of connecting with the team. I really look forward to what is going to happen.
